I worked on this piece for about 15 hours. I have been messing with the hair for hours and hours! But this is as realistic as I could get them, for now I hope you like it!
Edit: I applied stuff from the critique; Drew a hoof and blended it in the background, better shading and a bit more lightning on the neck and head. Oh and I made the two already existing hooves lighter. Also applied a second photofiltre (2xorange) for more unity in the manip. Do you guys think it looks better?
Thank you stock owners for providing it! Horse: Background:

Wow! This is really nice! Your Grounding and mane couldn't be better!
Your mane, as I said, looks beautiful! Your forelock looks a bit, styled, its all going the same way. xD I feel like you could have place a few "Flyaways" here and there on it. Your tail just needs a bit more depth and it would be perfect! c:
The lighting is pretty good, (MUCH better than I could do it...) but I would have liked the two hind feet to be darker, and also the hoofs, but otherwise, awesome job!
I would have liked to see a bit more muscle definition, but the parts you did are awesome too.
Other than that, This is amazing! And I haven't said this, but I LOVE the shadow.
Wow! This is stunning work! I saw this as appalied for 'novice', and I think it should be intermediate, some groups would accept this as adanced First, I love the hair! Loads! Its so realistic, and so very fine! There are individual stands, light, dark and clumps too, which is all the things needed to give a realistic effect. I think maybe a few more darker stands to really bi=ring out the depth would make the tail a tenny bit better, but really, thats all I can say for the hair! The lighting on the body goes from black, to the horses colour, to sharp light on the outline. You could try adding more light on the curvature of the stomach, and the muscles and bones of the legs and neck. The side of the neck with the mane should be a lot darker, as the light would not reach there as the mane is in the way ^^ In short, less black, more light You;ve done the outline beautifully though The hooves could do with being a littl darker though, especially the hind leg. As for the hoof on the ground, I cannot see a hoof, so you may need to draw one in, or, a little trick of mine, draw grass in front of the hoof so you don't have to draw one The other grounded hoof is done very well though The background, and the shadow in particular, are spectacular Theres not much more to say I'm afraid! The horse may be a little too big for the background, but thats probably just my eyes playing up and me being picky You are very very talented! Well done, and good luck in the rest of your art
very nice, only thing i have to say is perhaps manip the backgroud maybe add a filter or something, and with the horse add a bit of shadow to him say around the legs and on the left side other than that really love it just think its needs a bit more something
