There are a lot of really wonderful things about this manipulation. I really like how soft this image feels, which is a really nice contrast to the over sharpening effect you see on so many images nowadays. The prep work is great - no over smudging so the horse's coat still retains it's texture. The eyes are beautifully painted, which I commend you for, as sometimes I find painting eyes at this angle can be a PITA!

Something that could use a small improvement would be the hair, in my opinion. There's nothing wrong with it, but I think having some individual strands coming off of it, especially at the ends (which are currently a touch harsh) would really contribute some realism. As it currently is, it looks just a touch plastic-y to me, if that makes sense. :^) The feathering, however, is extremely well done and I would change a thing.

The other minor thing is the lighting. I respectfully disagree with the deviant below, and think the lighting actually needs to be a little less harsh/pop less (I don't think it's near harsh enough to produce a glow). I think the shadow's opacity could be lowered a smidge until it blended with the rest of the shadows, and the brightness on the horse's rump/barrel/shoulder/ could be toned down just a hair. Also maybe some shading underneath the horse's hooves would give it an even more grounded look (not that you currently have a case of "floating horse syndrome" ;^).

I don't mean to sound too harsh, those are really just some minor things that in my personally opinion think would really take this image from "Very good" to "Wow!". I love a lot of things about it, and that horse you used is just so dang cute and I love it because it's also not the usually body type you see being used.

So all in all, good job, your hard work shows!
